Summary minutes from the meeting

Welfare

  • Welcome to Mike Lax who has joined the committee and welfare team. Policies are being reviewed and updated. Thank you to Clare Newby who has taken on the role of First Aid Coordinator for the club.
  • This season’s online Safeguarding training is on Monday 14th October, 7:15-7:45. For all coaches, captains, umpires, mentors and anyone else who would like to attend. The link will be shared in advance.

Finance & Subscriptions

  • A reminder that all players should have set up subscription payments in order to be eligible for selection for matches.
  • The bolt-on charge for performance players in both the mens and womens sections is £100 for the year and will be allocated on Pitchero.
  • We are still looking for volunteers to support the kit & finance teams. Please contact Matt Jones.
  • All payments should happen via Pitchero.

Junior Section

  • EH Cup and Midland leagues have been entered for all age groups, with matches having started.
  • There are currently ‘introduction’ sessions running for U12/14s to allow them to learn some of the basics and rules before doing their age-group sessions.

Senior Section

  • All teams have now started their league campaigns. Women’s 1s have had a tough start back in Prem, but results are improving. Winning starts for the Women’s 2s & 6s, Men’s 3s & 5s, and Men’s 1s undefeated.
  • The R1 draws for the EH Cup Competitions have taken place, with games starting at the end of October.
  • Thank you to Gareth Griffiths for his work as men’s Club Captain and welcome to Jon Best who is the new men’s Club Captain.
  • The club is looking into ways to improve the showering options available for those playing later matches at Wyndley.

Socials

  • Saturday 12th October, Casino Night £8 18+. Please sign up on Pitchero.
  • Upcoming socials are 26th October Halloween Party, 23rd November Team Challenge, 14th December Christmas Party.
  • 8th Feb Bingo night, End of season dinners tbc, 10th May Gala Ball.
  • Please let your captains/coaches know about any dietary requirements or allergies you have. Also a plea from the social team to purchase tickets in advance to help with planning and catering.

The Clubhouse

  • Grants have been applied for with a view to helping fund the refurbishment of the clubhouse.
  • We encourage all members to come back to the club after matches. Hockey is a social sport and spending time with the team and opposition after matches is an important part of our club.

AOB

  • Flyerz & Walking Hockey continue to be successful. The Wyndley Warriors are hosting Wolverhampton walking hockey squad on 7th November.
  • Peter Bell has offered to support any umpires in their development. He has also written histories of the club dating back a number of years. Thank you to Peter for all his work as our Club Historian.
  • A Volunteers Meal will be held at the clubhouse on Monday 25th November. All captains, coaches, umpires, sponsors and club volunteers are invited to attend. Information will be shared on Pitchero.

First half of the season: Mondays 7 October; 4 November; 9 December
Second half of the season: Mondays 13 January; 24 February; 24 March
