Thank you to Rachel Allen & Jenny Ball for all their work in ensuring DBS checks are up to date and that relevant personnel attended the start of season welfare training or have watched the welfare video. Please can all volunteers requiring DBS clearance complete the relevant online forms and have documents ready to show Jenny/Rachel in a timely manner.
Thanks to Clare Newby and the welfare team for auditing and restocking team first aid kits recently.
A reminder that within WhatsApp groups and communities, numbers are visible to other members. Individuals can choose to include their photo/name or not. If there is a reason your number should not be shared with other coaches/captains, please make your captain or coach aware.

Finance - Kit and Subscriptions

Kit ordered at the start of the season has now been delivered to the club. Thank you to Sofia for helping Matt and Cath check and sort the orders. Stock of our playing kit is now stored at the clubhouse and available to purchase from the bar, rather than ordered via Pitchero.
Players will not be eligible for selection after Christmas if membership subs and/or the performance player bolt-on charge are still outstanding.

Junior Section

Thursday night training sessions will run differently after Christmas, with extra team training for U12/14s on offer. Full details will be communicated to juniors.
A number of junior indoor competitions were entered and enjoyed by the U16/18s who participated.
Congratulations to all players, and thank you to the many volunteers, for an excellent first half of the season.

Senior Section

There are a number of rearranged games due to the recent adverse weather.
Mid-season reviews are taking place in both men’s and women’s sections.
WO35s team are through to the third round of the EH Cup and MO35s are into the second round of the plate.
Indoor Hockey. Preparations are underway for the Midlands qualifiers for the men (14 December) and National League Prem for our women (weekends of 4/5 and 11/12 January).
January and February home league fixtures are now on GMS and Pitchero. Once the W1 Premier League fixtures are released, home pitches for fixtures for March onwards will be finalised.

Socials

MAB are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the clubhouse on Saturday 14 December for the Christmas Party: 7:30pm, £1 per person. The Polar Express is also being shown at lunchtime in the clubhouse with juniors and their families very welcome.
Bingo night - 8th February. End of season dinners dates tbc. Gala Ball - 10th May, Aston Wood Golf Club.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse AGM is 7pm on Monday 27th January. Members of both Sutton Coldfield Cricket and Hockey clubs are invited to attend. The meeting will include an update on the clubhouse refurbishment plans.

It has been agreed for former player John Robinson to become a SCHC vice-president, nominated by Peter Bell & seconded by Jamie Ross.

After a number of years, two significant committee members are stepping down from their roles at the end of the 24/25 season. The club would like to thank Matt Jones, Treasurer, and Ian Harding, Membership Secretary for their tremendous contributions over many years. With growing teams of volunteers in both finance and membership, the club is keen to hear from anyone interested in these key club roles. Please speak to Peter Westbrook, Cath James or Dan Branch if you would like to know more.
