SCHC Men's 3s v Olton 3s

Sutton Coldfield Men's 3s Battle Bravely

After losing to top of the table Lichfield the previous weekend, Sutton Coldfield Men’s 3s faced an equally tough challenge in the form of second placed Olton and West Warwickshire on Saturday 31st October 2015.
With changes made to the back four, Sutton looked a harder proposition to break down than the previous week and worked hard to keep Olton at bay, whilst creating some half chances of their own.

Olton were the first to score when the Olton forward was given too much time to turn and shoot in the Sutton D. Sutton battled bravely back and man of the Match Simon Willis equalised with a superb penalty corner flick. Sutton then created two good chances to go ahead but failed to find a cutting edge. Olton however, were more clinical and a deflected cross managed to find in the inside of the far back board, then just before half time scored a third from a penalty corner.

The second half was fairly balanced but Sutton were unable to convert their open play chances or penalty corners as Lee Meddlicot fired high into the side netting and the Olton keeper produced a spectacular diving save to keep out Ian Harding. At the other end Sutton couldn’t quite keep out Olton as they scored a fourth before the final whistle blew, ending the game 4-1 to Olton.
