We are excited to announce that Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club has been awarded a Talent Academy host licence the 2024/25 season, the club will take on the hosting of the existing Birmingham TA from England Hockey, and be part of the network of 24 academies (specific catchment details to be confirmed).
The Sutton Coldfield Talent Academy will therefore be part of the England Hockey Talent System, supporting juniors with the potential and commitment to make it to the highest level. Talent Academies aim to develop selected players through high quality coaching and holistic athlete development. The Talent Academy provides an additional environment for talented young hockey players to join together and experience high level coaching and competition, in addition to their existing hockey diet at club and school.
We look forward to working with all catchment area clubs/schools/counties to ensure that opportunity for all, we would ask all coaches to ensure that they have completed the nomination process for talented young players by the end of the current nomination process on the 1st May. Further details at Talent Academy Nomination Process and Guidance (englandhockey.co.uk).
