Thank you from Chandos Primary School

Thank you from Chandos Primary School

A huge thank you to all those who donated books to build the school's library and a request for lego to support creative play - can you help?

Dear Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club

The children of Chandos Primary School would like to say a massive thank you for donating well over 500 children’s books.

Over a period of over a year staff have been searching, asking and purchasing books from anywhere possible. Family and friends have kindly parted with much loved books that are now being enjoyed by every year group. With over 3000 books collected for less than £300, the school are incredibly grateful to the generosity of people.

To put things into perspective, money is in such a shortage at the school that we have sadly had to make some of our dinner ladies redundant. So the kindness of you is what it’s all about.

This brings me to one more request (cheeky, I know), and that is for Lego. Some of our children will have never played with Lego before and this is my next mission. My target is to have a box of Lego in each classroom for wet play. I want our children to be more creative and engage in non-digital entertainment.

So, my plea to you is for any donation of Lego, so our little people can engage in a creative, sharing activity that isn’t watching TV.

If you can help and want to donate the little bricks contact me and I will happily pick up from your house.

Many thanks and kind regards,
Mark James aka Jimmy (4th team)
